Certificate Request Process

Certificates fees are as follows:

  • Standard service £11.00 per certificate - despatched within 15 working days by Royal Mail 2nd class post.

  • Priority service £35.00 per certificate - despated next working day by Royal Mail 1st class (where requested before 3.00 pm).  

Family History / Ancestry

  • Please email your family history research requests to registrars@carmarthenshire.gov.uk providing all available information.

  • Please do not use our online service to request a certificate until we have completed a search and confirmed that we hold the entry you require. Once the entry is located we will provide you with an index reference number. We will then ask you to place your order and pay online.

  • Please note that family history searches are not subject to the statutory 15 day waiting period. Where extensive research is required an additional search fee, levied at £15.00 per hour, may apply (up to a maximum 3 hours per search).

Refund Policy

  • We do not refund payment where the applicant no longer needs the certificate.

  • We do not refund payment where an applicant has provided incorrect information.

We hold records of Birth, Death and Marriage from 1st July 1837.  Civil Partnership records are held from 5th December 2005.
